I have an initial reaction to the New York Times (and many other publications) article that former Former Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona said, before a congressional panel, that "top Bush administration officials repeatedly tried to weaken or suppress important public health reports because of political considerations."
Duh.
It is my humble opinion that it is only after a Surgeon General in the Bush administration leaves office that we can trust that he or she is speaking the truth about public health issues. While they are serving they are merely a political mouthpiece for the Bush administration.
