The Man With the Guitar - Marching Around the Room

While I was on vacation at Peaceful Valley last week, we shot a little video footage that has become the newest episode in The Man With the Guitar video series -- have a look!

The Cicada Chef

I finished the video tonight -- It's on google video, aol uncut video, in my web hosting area and on youtube too! It features "I Like Cicadas" (garage version) in the soundtrack. (The song also known as "The Cicada Song.")

Women

Last week, at a Church Planting Conference, the pastor of Mars Hill in Seattle, Mark Driscoll, made (on video) what I think are some pretty degrading allusions (is that the right word?) about women in ministry. In the video, he kept talking about having the right MAN for church planting and at one point referred to women as "ladies" who love jesus (in a very "Men are totally superior to women" way.

I've been so bothered by this video. It did start a mini-fued between Driscoll and Bill Hybels. I'm really bothered because I don't think there should be any more debate or question as to whether women can and should be ministers. Women and men can both be ministers!

While I was lamenting the poison (did I say something caustic too?) Mr. Driscoll was spreading, I learned about this moving, uplifting and awe-inspiring video. It made me cry and it made me sing. Thank you, Jennifer.

ht to marko -- who I can ht again now that he's on his speaking sabbatical. I don't know why I can ht him again -- I just decided I could, so there.

15 seconds with Tedd

Here's a very short video I posted today. I thought it was funny. Cassie just groaned.

iRack -- the newest iProduct

This was on MadTV recently (just last week) I think it's hilarious. Not everyone is as amused, however.

Mom my ride

This is one of the funniest parodies I've seen in a long time. I've seen many, many, many minivans that have been "mom-ed." It appears that this bunch has been active anonymously for years! (Note -- It's a viral ad campaign for Zima.)

Bono continues

I just watched Bono's acceptance speech from the 2007 NAACP image awards.

Tears of inspiration is all I can say to describe my reaction.

O Holy Night

I know that it's a little past Christmas.
My father-in-law and brother-in-law sang "O Holy Night" at Carillon Community Christian Church's Christmas eve service. (They started practicing with Cassie and my sister-in-law Karen as a quartet, but decided a duet worked better.) Cassie was behind the camera when Joe and Kevin sang the song at the Coburn home for this video.

Will it blend?

I stumbled across this wonderfully entertaining video series a couple of days ago. (I've been having home made smoothies everyday for breakfast the past couple of weeks) "Will it Blend?" comes from the blender manufacturer Blendtec. They have some amazing blenders. I don't know if the videos will get me to spend upwards of $400 on a blender, but these videos have object lesson material written all over them!
Here's one of my favorites:

Weekend of fun

It was a really busy weekend -- with events at St. Matthew from Friday until Sunday! There are pictures from most of them on the St. Matthew website (Check the photo album or what's new" areas). And the first project I completed was the "4th movie in the pumpkin trilogy" that I made with the middle schoolers. It's a "TV show trailer" parody of Lost -- called "Tossed." The video is on youtube and google video -- and you can also catch the outtakes here!

Shameless

Some of you may know that a couple of years ago I wrote this 'cheesy' little song.

Some say it's quite catchy.

It's oft requested when I am playing my guitar for groups

Maybe you'll like it too. (And then maybe you'll buy it and tell lots of your friends!)

You can also check out the video version (and lots of others too!)
