Gas main leak

Everyone in my neighborhood has been having trouble getting home this evening. There's been a gas main rupture (I don't know exactly why, but there is construction going on in the area) about 3 blocks away from my house at the intersection of Route 59 and Batavia road in Warrenville. I walked over to the area to find out more information and a firefighter said "They broke a gas main" and pointed in the direction of a "fisssszzssing" sound.

We came home and closed our windows. I wonder if there'll be an evacuation?

I wrote last year about the "newspaper battle" in Warrenville between the Warrenville Today and the (now defunct) Warrenville Clipper.
