Stressed

Yesterday I felt all tense most of the day. My back was tight. My neck was tight. My legs were tight. I didn't have a headache, but I felt like I was under a whole lot of stress.

The thing is, I haven't been under a whole lot of stress. In general, I am more relaxed than I have been in years. I feel more equipped to listen to God's still small voice (and God is still speaking!) and feel like God is refreshing me every day.

So how come I felt all tight?

I realized a bit later in the day that since I had changed my morning workout routine, I had worked many different muscles. They were sore.

So then I just felt like my muscles were sore and I didn't feel stressed at all. (My wife gave me a backrub while I was still feeling stressed -- it helped me to realize the whole deal.)

I feel like I learned that God is still present, still working, still renovating, still refreshing, still healing, still speaking and still loving -- no matter what pain - or joy - I have in my life.

And that's comforting.

I recorded London Bridge and Dress Up Contest (a song I wrote and used to sing to my kids to help them get ready) yesterday. London Bridge turned out pretty well -- but Dress Up Contest sounds awful. I was messing around with the speed control on the VF80 and made my voice sound all chirpy. Then when I tried to digitally fix the chirp I made the rest of the recording sound tinny and generally horrible. If you listen to it right away (before 3/17 in the afternoon) you can hear the bad version. After that you'll hear the better version.

Oh yeah -- Happy St. Patrick's Day!
