This is the kind of adventure to write books and make movies about. A group of creative thinkers organized as BEAR (Balloon Experiments with Amateur Radio) tried, failed, tried, failed, tried and succeeded to send up a small balloon -- connected to a box containing a camera that would take a picture every minute -- into space.
