Oscar side view

I didn't pay close attention to the Oscars last night -- but it was on in the same room where I was.
Here are my "I saw most of this with peripheral vision" comments:

  • Ellen was funny, inviting, entertaining and, well, Ellen
  • Jennifer Hudson sounded genuinely surprised and genuine in her acceptance speech. During her song, however, I thought part of her was going to make a surprise appearance on TV.
  • Martin Scorsese should have more than one Oscar, but I'm really glad he finally did win.
  • Every time I see Forest Whitaker, I think of Fast Times at Ridgemont High
  • I should probably see "The Departed," though my wife said she didn't like it.
  • Those shadow things made me feel uneasy.
  • Jack Nicholson was boldly bald -- The look is gonna take some time for me to get used to.
  • I laughed out loud when Clint Eastwood said "I should have worn my glasses."

yippee! reader driven content! i didn't like the departed either, but you might be able to handle it... i can't remember if cassie and i saw it together, but probably. somehow we ended up at a lot of crappy movies together this year. bad luck. i agree about jack's hair, but i always say... when you start majorly losing your hair you have to either cut it really tight and close (a la ed harris) or shave it right off. i think it was a smart move, although someone said he looks like daddy warbucks, which is sort of true. today is my big presbytery exam!!! ttfn, traci
