Thankful for Our God Who Loves

What an amazing experience tonight.  The 5 Somonauk churches (Somonauk Baptist Church, Somonauk United Presbyterian Church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John Lutheran Church and Union Congregational Church, United Church of Christ) gathered for a shared Thanksgiving Eve worship service.  The spirit-filled worship and sense of community was wonderful.  The community choir moved us and gave us chills.  And the inspired preaching of my friend, Rev. David B. Johnson reminded us that loving is what God does.  Thanks to all the participating congregations and clergy tonight -- let's do it again soon!
Here's this evening's sermon:

Kirk,
It amazes me that we had so many different denominations all gathered in one place. I don't think I've ever seen that in my lifetime and grew up attending St. John's Lutheran Church! I'm truly sorry that we missed it, it sounded wonderful. We got stuck in traffic and didn't make it back until 9:00 pm. See you Sunday. Dawn
