The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (The Mummy 3)

Last night Cassie and I went to the fancy AMC theatre in Lombard (the one with the full restaurant and the super-posh seating) and saw the newest (though not that highly anticipated) mummy flick. Here's my short review:

This is the film the newest Indiana Jones movie should have been.

Here's a little more:

• This film had a lot of fun with itself and gave us several obvious homage moments to the Indiana Jones movies.
• I don't think there were any "WOW" performances by the actors, but I particularly liked Maria Bello stepping effortlessly into the role of Evelyn O'Connell
• The special effects were pretty good -- not great, but pretty good.
• I wasn't sure I wanted to see this film -- but after seeing it, I'd love to see a 4th installment!

Overall -- great fun and a really good film.
