Justice

Earlier this week, as this week's "Opening the Bible" blog entry for i.ucc.org, I wrote a piece of beat poetry (Pray. Act.) inspired by the parable of the persistent widow from Luke 18:1-8. The poetry is still there at the end -- but I've added some beginning reflection to what is now this week's sermon at Union Congregational Church in Somonauk.

so... um... here's the story. i'm preaching on this text this week, too. i LOVED some of the things you said. can i weave them into my sermon? also, where did you read that deal about the hebrew for widow?

i haven't even started my sermon yet (well, on paper... it's mostly in my head. going to borders to pound it out later this evening...)

Have fun weaving -- I found the deal with the widow originally from kate huey at i.ucc (her weekly entry called "don't lose heart.") But I couldn't verify it until I looked deep into Strong's Concordance and looked at the root of widow.
