This week's Bible study post (Tweets during a sermon) looses it's 'tweetness' in favor of running commentary (It seems it will work better in front of a crowd) but still maintains the spirit of the post in Sunday's electric sermon at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Somonauk, IL

Tweets during a sermon
Psalm 148 is full of celebration. It’s joyous, jubilant, and exciting.
It also sounds a little bit like a preacher on a roll – only they are having trouble keeping things coherent.
This is what I think tweet responses might look like during sermon that used the words of Psalm 148.
Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights!
@pewtweet What are the heights?
Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his host!
@pewtweet Of course – they have to, right?
Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars!
@pewtweet wait a minute – those things can’t do stuff like that!
Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
@pewtweet waters above the heavens? Uh . . . .
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created.
@pewtweet OK – so everything God’s created celebrates – I’m starting to understand
He established them forever and ever; he fixed their bounds, which cannot be passed.
@pewtweet Preacher’s on a roll! Preach it! Preach it!
Praise the LORD from the earth, you sea monsters and all deeps,
@pewtweet Uh . .. sea monsters? Wait a minute now.
fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling his command!
@pewtweet What is this preacher talking about now? I think the thought train is out of control!
Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars!
@pewtweet Fruit trees? I’m hungry now.
Wild animals and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds!
@pewtweet Creeping things. That sounds like creepy things. (laughing to self)
Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth!
@pewtweet OK – back on track now.
Young men and women alike, old and young together!
@pewtweet Yes! Everyone together praising God! We’re on another roll!
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven.
@pewtweet This whole place is about to shout out loud. I can feel it building!
He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his faithful, for the people of Israel who are close to him. Praise the LORD!
@pewtweet That horn thing is the Shofar, right? It gets people all riled up. We’re really rolling now! Let’s keep going! Let’s sing! Let’s shout! Praise God!
